OUR STORY

It was January 12, 2010 when a quarter of a million lives were lost, a million people stranded with no where to go and 450 thousand boys & girls abandon to live in one of the poorest countries in the world. When the 7.0 earthquake hit Port Au Prince, Haiti - It was hard to imagine what the future would hold for the 3rd world country. A few months later the story of the earthquake soon faded from the press, countries pledging millions in aid have yet to be delivered.
CHILD HOPE: Maison de Lumiere
After the earthquake, Nathan a local artist in Los Angeles was encouraged by his sister to go on a mission trip to Port Au Prince, Haiti. The goal was to assist the orphanage of Child Hope, a mission focused on rescuing abandon boys and girls struggling to survive in the tent cities. Providing food, education, a safe place to lay their heads and most importantly love for their broken spirits and the faith needed to face the adversity ahead; Nathan wanted to do more for them when he returned home. It was a life-changing event that he wouldn’t allow to be mistaken for an experience however a new responsibility and a call of action towards giving to the greater good and making a high-impact on the lives of those in need.

A NEW MISSION TO LIVE: +GIVE
Returning home, Nathan began meeting with a number Non-profit leaders at Child Hope International, Charity : Water, Falling Whistles, The REEL Project and Fortune 500 business leaders at Vitamin Water and Pepsi to get their advice and support on this new mission. Seeing business as a positive way to connect culture with a cause and allow customers to use their purchase power towards supporting a greater need; Nathan saw this as an opportunity to use his resources in design as a platform to create threads that give. Nathan quickly began designing Men & Women's garments & travel bags that empower our customers & brand ambassadors to use as an everyday tool in spread awareness about the causes in need of support while giving to the greater good. Cultivating culture to support trusted Nonprofit Organizations and their cause is the mission for STALYON. Clothing and equipping a new generation of young souls ready to take a stand and help in a powerful way is exciting. Inspired by people who use their threads in a bold new way are the people we seek to clothe.
FOSTER THE PEOPLE: COMMUNITY + CULTURE + GOOD
A few months after getting back from Haiti, Nathan found himself on the tour bus with friend and musician Mark Foster of the band - Foster The People. It was on this trip that Nathan was truly inspired to clothe & equip a new brave generation that is ready to go forth in support of helping those in need by using our +threads as a creative platform to cultivate culture and allow people to make a high-impact on the lives of those in need. Understanding that people are tired of supporting the fashionable trends of "cool" and hungry to be apart of a lifestyle in giving to the greater good, STALYON was born.
